Customer Situation
There are many technical and design teams of Hero MotoCorp with bases out of Europe, North America and India. These teams have to work in coherence on various assignments sharing the progress of work with the other teams. While collaborating with each other, care was to be taken that there was no potential threat to the Intellectual Property being developed while sharing it. Hero MotoCorp was earlier using a cloud solution which posed a lot of security and tracking challenges during collaboration. To cater to these challenges, Hero MotoCorp developed a solution based on the Microsoft Azure platform with the assistance of PC Solutions which resulted in a reliable, secure platform where storage, service support and security issues have been taken care of as per their business requirements.
Most importantly, Eco rent a Car IT systems were stressed out as there were multiple IPs on a single server and this was driving 100 per cent resource utilization for the organization. In order to move from this situation, the company was looking at minimum downtime.
Partner Solution and Microsoft Technology
At a time when Eco Rent a Car was looking towards embracing truly next generation-ready IT infrastructure – PC Solutions came forward to successfully deploy Microsoft Azure Cloud while creating a VPN tunnel on Azure to the earlier scenario of database hosted with the international organization, enabling swift data transfer and facilitating a separate application and database VM.
The solution has also hosted websites in Internet Information Service (IIS) over multiple Public IPs and enabled database migration, which was earlier deployed on dedicated resource – outsourced with a globally well established player – to Azure in a swift and efficient manner.
With an aim of doing more with less, Azure cloud solution has taken into consideration 16 virtualised CPUs for 8 CPU servers which were earlier deployed with a dedicated resource on an international organization. This has considerably reduced the IT infrastructure maintenance and support obligations for the company.
Microsoft Azure Cloud Solution comprises of IT elements such as: Compute, Storage, NIC, Recovery Service, Site-to-site & Point-to-Site VPN, Standard MS SQL, Windows OS, Gateway, Vnet, Subnet, Resource Group, Automation etc.
