Backup Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, configure and maintain backup systems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
  • Monitor and optimize backup performance, ensuring backups are completed within defined windows and meeting recovery point objectives (RPO) and recovery time objectives (RTO).
  • Perform regular backups and ensure the integrity, consistency, and availability of critical data and systems.
  • Develop and implement backup policies, procedures, and schedules in alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Test and verify backup and recovery processes to ensure their effectiveness and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot backup failures and issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with system administrators and network engineers to ensure backup solutions integrate smoothly with the overall IT infrastructure.
  • Manage backup storage infrastructure, including capacity planning, expansion, and optimization.
  • Monitor and analyze backup logs and reports, proactively identifying trends, anomalies, or potential risks.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, industry standards, and internal security policies
