Technology Requirements :
- Expert level knowledge of Routing/Switching protocols: IP/MPLS, BGP/MP-BGP, VRFs, OSPF, QoS, PBR, VPC LACP, PAGP, Spanning tree
- Should have good hands on experience in software code and hardware refresh on below hardware platforms:
- Hands on Experience on Cisco routing/switching including Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, XR and NX-OS
- Hands on Experience on Arista EOS – 7010, 7050, 7280 Series switches
- Hands on Experience on Cisco catalyst – 3560, 3850, 4500, 6500, 9500 Series switches
- Hands on Experience on Cisco Nexus – 5000, 9000 Series switches
- Hands on Experience on Cisco ISR – 2900, 3900, 3925, 4000, 4400 Series switches
- Hands on Experience on Cisco ASR – 1000 Series switches
- Hands on Experience on Cisco Viptela vEdge – 1000, 2000 & 5000
- Should be having strong knowledge on performing bug scrub on Arista and Cisco based operating systems.
- Strong knowledge and hands on Experience of WAN products and protocols
- Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve high-severity, business-impacting outages and incidents
- Experience with operation tools, firewalls (Palo Alto), F5 Load balancers etc. will be an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills: ability to communicate technology strategy and architecture approach to engineers, executives
- Certifications: CCIE preferred, CCNP/equivalent is must.
- Able to handle escalations and customer communication
- Communication skills to include conflict management, presentation/demonstration, and written communication-cultural sensitivity learning agility, and virtual/remote training.
- Expert level experience with F5 Load Balancing iRules, HTTP profiles, SSL configurations and TCP profiles.
- Expert level knowledge in packet capture analysis.
- Expert level experience with Load Balancing vendor products like F5, AVI etc.
- Experience in Virtualization system administration like VMware (ESXi) and Cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure etc. is preferred.
- Works as Load Balancing architecture consultant to ensure Infrastructure configuration aligns to business and IT strategy.
- Partners with the American Express Technology Application/Hosting teams in determining the best practical solution following enterprise standards.
- Ensures accurate asset information is recorded/documented for the platform/application supported.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years engineering experience in a global Data Centre environment in the IT industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, or significant experience
- Experience in design and implementation of Data Centre Network Infrastructure.
- Experience with in depth problem solving, packet capture analysis, reporting and presentation to senior leaders and key partners.
- Experience in Application layer troubleshooting.
- Ability to lead, influence and drive direction to deliver innovated solutions that are advantageous to American Express with outstanding personal integrity and ability to build trust and collaborate across an organization.
